The Futsal World Rankings is released every first week of the month; should no matches be played the ranking will not be updated.
The World Ranking is also broken down into six confederations: Oceanian Football Confederation (0FC), Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Football (CONCACAF), Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Confederation of African Football (CAF), Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (CONMEBOL), Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
The latest Futsal World Rankings were released January 5, 2015 and Canada currently is not included in the FIFA Futsal World Rankings due to its inactivity in the last 2 years. After the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup Qualifiers Canada was ranked 50th in the world. Maintaining an active national futsal program would have only propelled our world rankings in an upwards fashion; a step in the positive direction has been taken with the first ever participation in the CONCACAF Futsal Club Championships in 2014. CONCACAF’s yearly event will only strengthen competition in the region and directly strengthen Canadian Futsal players. The opportunity afforded to Canada also provides opportunity for a National Program to fully flourish developing players and coaches across our nation.
