Francisco Javier “Paco” Araujo Fernández has been formally introduced as the Head Coach of Futsal Club Toronto effective immediately. His first challenge is the Ontario Provincial Futsal Cup Championship title; and a berth to the 2018 Canadian National Futsal Championship.
The Catalan international has an extensive resume as a player and coach in the world of futsal he has played for F.C. Barcelona, Martorell F.S., Cartagena, Burela F.S and El Pozo de Murcia F.S. to name a few. When his lustrous playing career came to an end he moved on to coach clubs like CAN TITO VILANOVA DEL CAMI F.S (España), Sharks y Stellamigo Iwate Hanamaki (Japón), Raba Eto Gyor (Hungría), and the Lebanese National Futsal Team.
The CONCACAF region is no surprise for this Spaniard as he has lead the Tico’s of Paraíso Futsal Club from Costa Rica along with the Costa Rican National Futsal Team.
As head coach he captured many titles: semi-finalists Japan Futsal League, semi-finalists Toyota Cup, 2009 Costa Rican Futsal League Champions, qualified to the UEFA FUTSAL CUP 2010 main round, quarter finalists in the 2012 & 2014 Asia Cup, Kuwait Super Cup Champion, runner up in the 2014 -2015 Kuwait Futsal League, and 1st place in the 2015 Asia Cup.

Paco Araujo joined FC Toronto while on Tour in Barcelona, directly from his home in Lebanon and he looks forward to commencing his role with the Men’s team and establishing the grassroots/youth program for the Mississauga based club.
