BRANDON SIMOES

CLUB HEAD COACH AND YOUTH COORDINATOR

Brandon Simoes (born November 27, 1992) is a Canadian Portuguese coach and former player who was born and raised in Canada with deep Portuguese roots. Currently a Club Head Coach at Futsal Club Toronto Brandon is highly involved in all club programs from grassroots to the men's senior team including playing with the Futsal Club Toronto Men's Senior Team. As well, Brandon is a Head Coach with the club’s High Performance Program in conjunction with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).

Currently playing with the FCT Mens Futsal Senior team as well as the FCT OSL Men's Senior Team Brandon has an extensive and impressive playing career prior to joining FCT. Brandon grew up in the Canadian youth system playing with Brampton youth alongside many current professional players. At age 17 Brandon had a stint with current first division Portuguese side Tondela in Portugal for 3 months on a trial invitation. Considering his options Brandon decided to return home to Canada and accept one of his many scholarship offers to join Olivet Nazarene University in the NAIA playing out of the CCAC (Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) before transferring to conference rivals Saint Xavier University (NAIA). Brandon was named CCAC player of the week multiple times and named to the CCAC team of the month and CCAC all conference team. Brandon currently sits top 15 in goals, assists, and points in all time records for Saint Xavier to date and is very much engraved in the school's history.

On the coaching side Brandon joined FCT summer 2020 and has quickly left a print on the club's success. Before joining FCT Brandon started his coaching career quickly after arriving back from school with Rush soccer academy before moving over to Brampton Elite Soccer Academy. After 2 years with Elite Brandon decided the next step in his early coaching career was to join FCT. Brandon’s coaching philosophy aligns with the club which is integrating a holistic approach to player relationships and a combination of demanding results along with player development. He is a strong believer in integrating futsal principles in player development as the speed and technical abilities that futsal demands is imperial to football.
